A Message from Superintendent Greg Baker

Dear staff, students, families and community, 

We celebrate Staff Appreciation Week annually during the first full week of May in Bellingham Public Schools.  

I witnessed and heard many examples of appreciation for our incredible staff last week. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and care. 

As one example of appreciation, I hope you enjoy this video highlighting our 2026 Promise Award recipients.  
 

Promise Award recipients represent our schools and district and help increase awareness of the important contributions of all staff and volunteers. You can also read more about each recipient on our website and see photos from surprise visits announcing the honorees. Please note, our Community Partner of the Year award will be announced at a later date. 

As I shared in a staff message last week, this is a challenging time for public education. As we navigate tough times, I am appreciative of the care and respect I see in our schools and across our district every day.
